Welcome!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the first edition of my Monthly Newsletter. I appreciate all of you for allowing me to fill your inbox with yet another thing you probably will never read. (Just kidding, hopefully.) Regardless, I wanted to provide everyone with something that I personally create every month, as opposed to a generic email or some other unoriginal newsletter type thing.

I plan on producing at least one newsletter per month with a variety of different topics that aren’t always pertaining to financial topics or the markets. These are meant to be fun and slightly educational. Any feedback you could give would be greatly appreciated as I get this off the ground and work out the kinks.

Also, I haven’t yet come up with an official name for this newsletter so feel free to send me some suggestions.

About Me

My name is Deven Patel, and I am a Financial Advisor with Windsor Wealth. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2022 with a degree in Financial Planning and in July of 2023, I passed my Certified Financial Planning exam.

Although I am young, I am more than equipped to handle almost all financial planning needs and problems. It also helps that I have an extremely experienced group of advisors behind me as well.

Football Is Back

I know we are already 4 weeks into the college football season at the time of this publishing, but the best season of the year is upon us.

Everything is right when the Georgia Bulldogs are playing on Saturdays, and it’s even better that we are going for three in 2023.

Student Loans Are Too

Starting this month, student loans payments are set to resume.

Payments on student loans have been suspended since March of 2020, and after over three years of suspension, they are set to further tighten the budgets of millions of borrowers. The big question is whether or not borrowers took advantage of the three-year grace period or used it to take out more debt, further increasing their total monthly payments. Time will tell.

Market Update

The Federal Reserve made the decision to not raise interest rates this month but left the door open for further hikes in the future. This decision came with an implication for a “soft landing” of the economy.

Many people still have mixed opinions on the possibility of a recession, with some calling for a “soft landing” and others saying that the recession could be steeper than originally thought.

Many of those calling for a steeper than anticipated recession have cited weakness and vacancies in the commercial real estate sector. Additionally, a large number of commercial real estate loans are set to be refinanced at much higher rates than before, which raises concern.

The good news is that if the economy deteriorates further, the Fed will be able to cut rates, hopefully making the economic impact swift and minimal.
