The Best Decade
Not now. We are setting Wealth records every day: How’s net worth of $113 trillion sound? Unimaginable – how many zeros is that?
That’s not all. The United Nations in their Human Development Report which, is oriented towards inequality in world societies, nevertheless affirms: “The 21st century has witnessed great progress in living standards, with an unprecedented number of people around the world making a “great escape” from hunger, disease and poverty—moving above minimum subsistence, still, many people have been left behind.”
And, The World Bank: “The percentage of people living in extreme poverty globally fell to a new low of 10 percent in 2015 — the latest number available — down from 11 percent in 2013, reflecting steady but slowing progress, World Bank data show. The number of people living on less than $1.90 a day fell during this period by 68 million to 736 million.”
Despite all of the negative news regarding a declining environment, according to Our World in Data, deaths from indoor and outdoor pollution have declined to 11.6% as a percentage of total deaths, from 12.6% in the 90’s, from 11.7 in 2010, all while industrial production has increased.
Life Expectancy, according to the United Nations, has reached unprecedented levels. In 2017 worldwide life expectancy exceeded 71 years of age. “Global Health and Well-Being”, comprises targets that contribute directly to rising life expectancy.”
As a contrast, those societies in a quagmire in socialism, communism, and totalitarianism, for the most part, have suffered in every category previously noted in these observations.
Hey y’all let’s get going on this decade…. Happy New Year
